Engagements · How we work together

Four ways to work together.

I bring hands-on senior GTM and marketing leadership, plus the perspective of an industry analyst and advisor who has worked with hundreds of companies.

I deliver every engagement myself. You work with me, not an account team or a junior consultant running my playbook.

The four engagements below cover most of the work I do with clients.

Fractional Leadership

Ongoing

A senior leader for strategy and execution.

You get a senior marketing leader owning the function or a major workstream, both setting strategy and driving execution. I work as a member of your team.

Most fractional engagements start with an assessment that lets us quickly identify and prioritize the work that needs to be done, across both strategy and operations.

This fits when there's a gap in leadership, or a function that needs more strategy and execution support. You need someone making decisions and executing the work, not advising on strategy from the outside.

Advisory

Ongoing

Ongoing access to senior judgment, on your agenda.

You get ongoing access to senior judgment, without a defined scope or active project. It runs through recurring calls, async reviews, and input on decisions as they come up, with the agenda set by your needs and priorities.

Advisory can also follow an assessment, supporting your team as they implement recommendations across the organization.

This fits when you have a marketing team handling execution but need more support on strategic planning and critical decision-making than they have the experience or bandwidth to provide.

Assessment and Recommendations

Defined scope

A clear picture of where your GTM stands.

You get a clear picture of where your GTM program stands today, what's holding it back, and a prioritized set of recommendations.

Most fractional and advisory engagements start here. The findings and recommendations are the starting point for working together, or a jumping-off point for your team to implement on their own.

This fits when you have the team to execute and need a clear, prioritized path forward before they start, or you're setting the foundation for a fractional or advisory engagement.

Custom Consulting

Flexible scope

An engagement shaped to work that doesn't fit a pattern.

You get an engagement built for work that doesn't fit one of the patterns above. It can be a tightly bounded project with a defined deliverable, or more freeform work shaped to your situation.

Examples include positioning or messaging projects, ABM platform implementation or optimization, analyst relations programs, and AI strategy or audit work. Workshops, speaking, and writing also fall here.

This fits when you need additional support for short-term projects, speaking engagements, and other work that doesn't fit a traditional fractional or advisory scope.

FAQ

Common questions

How does an engagement typically begin?

Most fractional leadership engagements start with an assessment. The findings and recommendations inform both strategy and operations. If you already have specific priorities you know need to be addressed first, engagements can also start from those. Either way, the first step is a conversation.

How long do engagements typically last?

Assessments take 2 to 6 weeks. Scheduling discovery calls and getting access to materials are the biggest factors in the timeline. Fractional and advisory engagements are a one quarter minimum and can run multiple years.

How much time do you spend on a fractional engagement?

I expect to average 8 to 10 hours a week on each fractional engagement. This is generally enough to make me a consistent part of the team and have time to roll up my sleeves and deliver every week.

Can you work alongside our existing marketing team or CMO?

Yes. As a fractional marketer, I work as a part time member of your team, providing leadership or working as an experienced operator in a specific function. As an advisor, I provide your CMO and leadership team outside perspective, typically to support planning and critical decision making.

Can an engagement change over time, for example from fractional to advisory?

Yes. I may build out the function and the team in a fractional role and then switch to advisory once the team is in place. Or an advisory role may pivot to fractional or add consulting time to support large projects or provide coverage if another leader leaves.

How is your pricing structured?

Fractional engagements start at $9K per month, advisory engagements start at $5K per quarter.

How do you use AI in your work?

AI is a core part of how I work. I use AI daily for research, analysis, and drafting outputs. I do not deliver unreviewed AI output as my own work. I also work with clients to improve their own use of AI for marketing.
